Leap Into Leadership 2012
Finding the Balance
Wyoming’s women juggle numerous roles including wife, mother, professional, family caregiver, athlete, volunteer, rancher, philanthropist and more. So adding political leadership and engagement may seem impossible at times, as reflected by Wyoming’s small representation of women in the legislature. The Wyoming Women’s Legislative Caucus is hosting Leap into Leadership on March 1 & 2, 2012 to help women take on community leadership roles while juggling their other responsibilities.
Leap into Leadership is a networking conference with speakers, workshops and a visit to the Capitol. Keynote speaker Lisa Belkin, the Huffington Post’s Senior Columnist on Life/Work/Family, will address how women can be effective community leaders and keep their other commitments in balance, and a panel of First Ladies of Wyoming will share their experience finding balance while in the position of First Lady. Workshops led by The White House Project, National Conference of State Legislatures, Lisa Belkin and University of Wyoming Professor Christi Boggs will include: Campaign Training for Life, Social Media Savvy and more.
Register online now or download the registration form for full details. Scholarships are available and Wyoming women of all ages and professions are welcome. Please contact Melissa Turley, info@wyowlc.org for more information.
Leap into Leadership is hosted in partnership with Equality State Policy Center, The Equipoise Fund, League of Women Voters, Wyoming Business Alliance, Wyoming Council on Women’s Issues and Wyoming Women’s Foundation; with financial support from Arch Coal, BNSF Railway, BP America, Brimmer Communications, Brent Kunz, Devon Energy, The Equipoise Fund, Exxon Mobil, Larry Wolfe – Holland and Hart, Jona Inc., KKW Consulting, Levin Strategic Resources, QEP Resources, Wyoming Associations & Government Affairs Network and the Wyoming Woman Magazine.
